October 5, 2018 (New York) – International law firm Proskauer is proud to announce that the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) has named the Firm a winner of the Thomas L. Sager Award, which recognizes law firms that demonstrate a sustained commitment to improving the hiring, retention and promotion of diverse attorneys.
This is the second recognition Proskauer has received in 2018 from the MCCA. The Firm was praised for its Mentoring Circle Program, which focuses on support of ethnically diverse and LGBTQ lawyers. MCP participants receive individualized executive coaching and forge close bonds with their mentors, gain exposure to different insights, working styles and networks of their circle’s partners, and learn from their fellow mentees. In March, litigation partner Bart Williams was named among its Rainmakers, an elite group of lawyers selected for achieving success through consistent innovation and proactive business development.
Chairman Joe Leccese accepted the award on behalf of Proskauer at the MCCA’s Diversity Gala on October 3rd, sharing the stage with the Chair of Morgan Lewis Jami Wintz McKeon. The joint win emphasized the need for collaboration across the legal industry to support the MCCA’s mission to increase the pipeline of underrepresented individuals in the legal field.
