May 18, 2017 (NEW YORK) – Proskauer obtained a victory on behalf of client McGraw-Hill Education in the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, which upheld the lower court’s ruling against the racial discrimination claims made by a former McGraw-Hill Education employee.
The Eighth Circuit’s three-judge panel unanimously affirmed the District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri’s 2015 grant of summary judgment for McGraw-Hill Education in this precedent-setting decision.
The former employee had alleged discriminatory compensation on the basis of race, hostile work environment, discriminatory discharge and retaliation under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act and the Missouri Human Rights Act (MHRA).
Proskauer’s team representing McGraw-Hill Education included partners Greg Rasin, Steve Hurd, and Mark Harris; associate Susan McAleavey; and senior paralegal Allen Jones.
