October 14, 2019 (New York) – Senior partner and co-chair of Proskauer’s Sports Law Group Brad Ruskin was honored by Student Leadership Network at the (Em)Power Breakfast on October 10. Brad was named this year’s “The Man We Love,” recognizing his dedication and support of Student Leadership Network’s mission to empower a diverse pipeline of young people from underserved communities to access educational opportunities and prepare them to lead successful lives. Through an array of public all-girls' schools and college access leadership programs, Student Leadership Network has sent more than 25,000 graduates to college since 2001.  In a video which aired at the award ceremony on October 10, Brad provides insight about being an attorney in an interview with his mentee from Student Leadership Network.

Brad joins a list of noteworthy past honorees including Richard Beattie, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, U.S. Senator Cory Booker, Andrew Farkas, and Eli Manning.  This year’s event also honored Aisha Muhammed-Oyebode, founder and CEO of Murtala Muhammed Foundation; Gbenga Oyebode, chairman, Aluko & Oyebode; and Lesley Stahl, award-winning journalist for CBS News. 

Brad has long been involved in a wide array of public service activities. He currently serves as a Member of the Executive Committee and Director of the Legal Aid Society, Director and Audit Committee Chair of the Student Leadership Network, and a member of ADL Sports Leadership Council.
