Steven Hornik

Steven M. Hornik is a partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Credit Group.

Steven focuses his practice on representing direct lenders and sources of credit including private debt funds, asset managers, BDCs, sovereign wealth funds and other investors in connection with complex financing transactions. Steven has experience in a variety of private credit transactions, including unitranche financings, first-in/last-out financings, second lien loans, secured and unsecured mezzanine financings, asset based financings (including ABL financings), debtor-in-possession financings and exit financings. Steven’s practice includes financings for acquisitions, dividend recapitalizations, refinancings and various cross-border transactions across an array of industries. Steven has additional experience representing secured and unsecured creditors in workouts and restructurings (both in-court and out-of-court), with experience in forbearance agreements, debtor-in-possession and exit financings, 363 sales and strict foreclosures.

Prior to joining Proskauer, Steven was a banking and finance and restructuring associate at Otterbourg P.C. where he represented banks and other financial institutions in connection with financing transactions and in- and out-of-court workouts and restructurings, as well as represented senior creditors and unsecured creditors’ committees in bankruptcy proceedings.
