Firm Adds Market-Leading High-Yield Capabilities with Jake Keaveny and Court Tisdale
LONDON, September 5, 2024 – Leading international law firm Proskauer is pleased to welcome Jake Keaveny and Courtland (Court) Tisdale to its London office. The team will join the Firm’s Capital Markets and Global Finance groups, broadening Proskauer’s bench across leveraged finance with their deep experience in high-yield bonds and cross-border transactions.
“We have always had a laser focus on serving the major players across London’s financial markets, and the addition of Jake and Court will further that goal. Their formidable experience in the syndicated bond market will deepen our relationships with major investment banks in the region and ensure clients’ needs are met across every aspect of the debt market. I am delighted to welcome them to Proskauer,” said Tim Mungovan, Chair of Proskauer.
The laterals are the latest in a strategic hiring effort from Proskauer, which also recently welcomed leveraged finance specialists and partners Philip Bowden, co-head of Proskauer’s Global Finance practice, and Megan Lawrence in London. The experience of the four partners, alongside Proskauer’s long-established Private Credit Group will allow the Firm to offer clients across Europe a full suite of services regardless of financing structure.
“The public and private markets are no longer isolated from one another, and clients need to be able to deploy a range of leveraged finance strategies,” said Justin Breen, co-head of the Firm’s Global Finance practice. “With the addition of Jake and Court, our Global Finance practice in London can enable that – whether the strategy looks to the syndicated bank market, high-yield bonds or private credit. I am excited to welcome this team and look forward to achieving great results for our clients.”
Jake and Court work on a variety of capital markets and loan transactions, with a focus on high-yield debt offerings. They bring deep experience in cross-border corporate finance transactions, acquisition financing, bridge financings and liability management. Their clients include investment banking firms, commercial banks, and public and private corporations in corporate finance transactions. They regularly work on committed financings related to leveraged acquisitions, and have practiced in a variety of industries, including TMT, infrastructure, gaming, retail, healthcare, industrials and leisure.
“Proskauer has a history of looking ahead of the market and we’re excited to be a part of its highly strategic approach to servicing the industry,” said Jake, who joins as European Head of Capital Markets. “No other law firm in Europe has such a broad private credit practice, and by adding deep expertise and scale across both the high yield bond and syndicated loans markets, Proskauer is building something unique. There is significant opportunity ahead.”
This year, Proskauer has welcomed 16 laterals globally, including Jake, Court, Philip and Megan, continuing its international growth from 2023. In September last year, the Firm added four corporate partners in Paris – Xavier Norlain, Jeremy Scemama, Maud Manon and Matthieu Lampel – as part of its strategy to continue to meet the growing needs of private capital clients across Europe.
