LONDON, July 25, 2024 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, announced today that it advised technology-focused venture capital firm, Atomico, on its investment in Lakera, the generative AI security business.
Atomico’s investment led Lakera’s $20 million Series A financing, with participation from Citi Ventures, Dropbox, and existing investors, including redalpine.
Atomico is one of Europe’s leading technology-focused venture capital firms. Many of Europe’s most ambitious founders have partnered with the business, including Aiven, Bird, DeepL, Hinge Health, Jobandtalent, Klarna, Lilium, Pipedrive, Stripe, Supercell and Wellhub. Atomico's team of investors and operational leaders are drawn from some of the most successful technology companies in the world, including Skype, Google and X.
Lakera is a leading real-time generative AI security business that empowers enterprises to accelerate the secure adoption of generative AI. Lakera's approach to AI security delivers three key benefits for enterprises: protection that does not slow down AI applications; the ability to stay ahead of AI threats with continuously evolving intelligence and feedback loops; and centralised implementation of AI security controls.
The global Proskauer team advising Atomico was led by partners Richard Bull (M&A) and Oliver Howley (TMT), and included associates Katie Bunce (M&A) and Peter Cramer (TMT).
The Proskauer team worked with Swiss law firm Pestalozzi on Swiss law aspects of the transaction.
