LONDON, JUNE 10, 2024 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce partner Sean Spence has been named to Law.com’s Rising Stars: The UK Legal Industry's Best Up-and-Coming Black Lawyers, 2024 List.

In its inaugural list, Law.com International highlights 10 exceptional Black lawyers aged under 40 working in the UK legal industry. Each candidate was assessed by the Law.com International editorial team on factors such as the quality of their client base, the size and complexity of deals they have worked on, client feedback and their commitment to innovation to pare down a list of nearly 40 stellar entries to 10 of the best lawyers who self-identify as Black.

Originally based in Proskauer Rose’s New York office and now resident in London, Sean Spence’s transatlantic practice has taken in several eye-catching mandates. In the last year, these include JLC Infrastructure’s investment in the New Terminal One project at JFK Airport in New York—a $9.5 billion project which represents the largest private investment ever committed to a U.S. airport terminal.

His practice covers several fund strategies including buyout, energy and infrastructure, real estate, funds of funds and emerging markets funds and a wide range of clients including newly formed and large asset managers, major financial institutions and sports leagues.

Sean also advises a diverse group of institutional investors and sovereign wealth funds in connection with their global alternative investment strategies, including negotiating investments in primary and secondary transactions across a variety of vehicles and asset classes.

Sean is the longest serving chair of the Firm’s Black Lawyer Affinity Group (BLAG), having led BLAG for the past 7 years. During his tenure, Sean has spearheaded several of Proskauer’s key diversity initiatives, most notably creating the Firm’s “A Path Forward” speaker series and its UK Black History Month programming.
