Elise Bloom, Sandy Crawshaw-Sparks and Margaret Dale Named to List for Eighth Year in a Row
NEW YORK, August 14, 2024 – Leading international law firm Proskauer is pleased to announce that three of its partners, Elise Bloom, Sandra (Sandy) Crawshaw-Sparks and Margaret Dale, have been recognized by Benchmark Litigation U.S. in its 2024 list of “Top 250 Women in Litigation”. The list honors distinguished women litigators who have continuously made an impact on their clients and peers through their work in and outside the courtroom. This is the eighth consecutive year Elise, Sandy and Margaret have been named to the list.
Elise is widely hailed as one of the nation’s top employment lawyers. Her practice is well-known for handling high-profile, bet-the-company matters, including discrimination, wage and hour and class/collective action matters. Elise advocates for the most powerful sports leagues and media and entertainment organizations in the U.S. She has successfully handled numerous high-profile employment discrimination matters for the NBA, NFL, MLS, MLB and Bloomberg L.P. She is also a consistent advocate for recruiting and retaining top-caliber female candidates, serving as a sponsor in Proskauer’s Women’s Sponsorship Program; and on the Board of Directors for Northwell Health, the largest health system in New York.
Sandy is the Chair of Proskauer’s Entertainment, Copyright and Media Practice and has represented the most iconic names in music on some of the biggest, industry-shaping matters. She has secured victories for recording artists, songwriters, record companies and music publishers in game-changing offensive and defensive music copyright cases. Sandy is also well known for her pre-litigation and pre-trial negotiation skills, and she routinely achieves resolutions of highly sensitive and confidential disputes, shielding her clients from unwanted media attention and creative disruption. Sandy serves as National Legal Counsel for the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences, Inc.; is a Legal Advisor to the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees of the Academy; and a long-standing member of the Board of Directors of the GRAMMY Museum’s Entertainment Law Initiative. Sandy is known as a fierce advocate for the advancement of women and in the legal profession, and she is the Co-Chair of Proskauer’s Women’s Sponsorship Program and is on the Steering Committee for the Proskauer Women’s Alliance.
Margaret is a seasoned trial lawyer and commercial litigator who handles complex business disputes across several industries and sectors, including consumer products, media and entertainment, financial services, telecommunications and technology, and higher education. Her practice is broad and covers challenging commercial disputes, including contract matters, bankruptcy and insolvency, securities, corporate governance, asset management, M&A, intellectual property and privacy and data security. She is currently the lead litigator representing the Financial Oversight & Management Board for Puerto Rico in the restructuring of the debt of the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority. Margaret maintains an active pro bono practice advocating on issues relating to reproductive rights, women, children and veterans. She serves on the Board of Directors of CFR (Center for Family Representation), VLA (Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts), and the City Bar Fund.
