LONDON, September 3, 2024 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, today announced that it has welcomed International Disputes partner James Kitching to its London office. James will sit in the Firm’s Litigation Department and brings over 20 years of experience in civil, criminal, regulatory proceedings and complex commercial disputes across multiple jurisdictions. He will practice in international disputes and investigations, strengthening the Firm’s global disputes platform.
James is a leading barrister and regularly conducts arbitration proceedings under the rules of the leading international arbitration institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) and the Swiss Chambers’ Court of Arbitration. He exercises full rights of audience in the Higher Courts of England and Wales, routinely handling client’s highest value and most challenging cases. James’s practice also includes white collar enforcement work and internal investigations often involving alleged bribery and corruption, money laundering and sanctions violations.
James advises across a variety of sectors including financial services, private equity, pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, telecoms, and IT.

James has particular expertise in advising on cross-border matters, including in dealing with data protection issues in the context of international disputes and investigations. He has undertaken World Bank investigations and has acted for governments, central banks, and some of the world’s leading corporations and financial institutions, where the amounts in dispute often exceed $1 billion.
