NEW YORK, January 19, 2024 – Leading international law firm Proskauer today announced that Timothy “Tim” Mungovan has been elected by its partnership to serve as the next Chair of the Firm, commencing in April 2024. Tim currently serves as a member of Proskauer’s Executive Committee, is Chair of the Securities Litigation Group and is the immediate past Chair of the Litigation Department. Tim will succeed Steven M. Ellis, who has served in the role since January 2020.

During Steve’s tenure, Proskauer achieved record revenue and profits. With a particular focus on private capital and the sectors in which they invest, the Firm advises leading asset managers such as Apollo, Ardian, Ares, Hg Capital and Sixth Street. In addition, the Firm recently extended its private capital platform into Paris by attracting one of the best corporate teams in the market.

Tim joined Proskauer over a decade ago and has successfully built the Firm’s widely respected asset management litigation practice. He is nationally recognized for his experience in private fund litigation and disputes, having focused on asset management litigation for more than 25 years. He was appointed Chair of the Litigation Department in 2017 and served in that role for six years.
