LONDON, September 23, 2022 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that associate Theresa Smith has been named to Sports Business Journal’s (SBJ) 2022 Class of New Voices Under 30. Members of this year’s class are future leaders and influencers in sports business across a variety of industries including law, analytics, representation, finance, digital content, executive search and venue development.
Individuals named to SBJ’s New Voices Under 30 were selected for their ability to stretch beyond the traditional roles within their organizations, break boundaries and take on additional responsibility.
An associate in Proskauer’s Sports Law Group, Theresa advises sports leagues, teams and other industry participants on a range of transactional matters, including acquisitions, league expansions, sponsorship agreements, ownership transfers and governance. Among Theresa’s recent matters is representing the Patrick D. Bowlen Trust and related entities in the $4.65 billion sale of the Denver Broncos to the Walton-Penner family. She also advised TMRW Sports Group’s launch of TGL, a new technology-focused golf league.
“Theresa is a rising star. She’s been on the frontlines of some of the most complex, high-profile deals in the sports industry. We are excited to continue to watch her career grow and flourish,” said Joe Leccese, Co-Chair of Proskauer’s Sports Law Group.
