Nicole O. Swanson

Nicole Swanson is an associate in the Litigation Department. Her practice encompasses a wide range of matters including contract disputes, false advertising, defamation, government investigations, antitrust and bankruptcy. She has represented clients in both state and federal courts as well as in ICC and AAA arbitrations.

Nicole has experience representing clients throughout various stages of litigation, including initial pleadings, coordination of discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation and practice. Recently, she was part of a team that secured a complete victory in a domestic arbitration involving a dispute over the enforceability of a personal guaranty.

Nicole maintains an active and diverse pro bono practice, and is a recipient of the firm’s Golden Gavel award. She volunteers with Family Legal Care to provide family law consults to self-represented litigants and serves as a member of FLC’s Junior Board. Nicole also supports the New York State Courts’ Court Modernization Action Committee in its efforts to implement technologies that enhance access to justice, such as virtual court proceedings and e-filing. Additionally, she has worked on asylum and naturalization applications, facilitated divorce proceedings for survivors of domestic violence and advised formerly incarcerated individuals on issues related to child custody, visitation and support.

Nicole earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law, where she served as a Managing Editor of the Moot Court Board and was elected to the Order of Barristers. While at NYU, Nicole externed with the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
