Emily Carling is is a Private Credit associate and member of the Global Finance practice and the firm's Private Capital industry group. Emily’s practice is focused on representing private credit funds and alternative lenders in UK and cross-border leverage acquisition finance.
Emily has experience working on various structures including unitranche, club and PIK-debt financings and mezzanine, first out/last out and senior/super senior structures across the middle market. Her experience encompasses other investment products relevant to the private credit market, including lender co-investments, note purchases and bond issuances.
Emily is admitted as a solicitor in England and Wales and prior to joining Proskauer was a general banking and finance associate at Clifford Chance in London. Her early career experience included a secondment to a prominent global investment bank, which has provided her with significant commercial insight.
She also was one of a few women selected to be a Protégée for Proskauer’s Women Sponsorship Program, an initiative for high performing mid level lawyers that champions emerging future leaders. During her time at Proskauer Emily has worked on various pro bono initiatives, including Kids in Need of Defence UK which provides free immigration advice and assistance to undocumented children.
