HONG KONG, June 21, 2022 – Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that the Firm earned recognition in three categories at this year’s China Business Law Awards 2022: mergers & acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, and real estate and REIT. This is the fourth consecutive year that the Firm has received top-tier accolades for its work in private equity and venture capital at the China Business Law Journal’s annual awards and the third year in a row for real estate and REIT.

Proskauer was recognized for advising long-time Barcelona-based client Grifols S.A. in its entry into a strategic alliance with Shanghai RAAS Blood Products Co Ltd, China’s leading blood plasma company. Grifols exchanged a minority interest in its U.S. subsidiary Grifols Diagnostic Solutions for a 26.2% interest in Shanghai RAAS. The matter was a one-of-a-kind cross-border share swap, and was ground-breaking in the context of changes in foreign investment regulations.

The Firm also earned accolades for its work with Adams Street Partners on two co-investments, two secondaries and five fund investments in Asia. Proskauer also represented Schroder Capital on its Series D investment in an India-based e-commerce platform as well as Partners Group on its co-investment with Baring Private Equity Asia, to raise capital for facilitating a privatization of CMS Info Systems, an Indian listed company in the TMT sector.

Proskauer was also awarded for its work representing Accor, a client of the Firm for more than 20 years. Most recently, the Firm represented Accor in taking full ownership of sbe’s hotel business, including the Delano, Mondrian, SLS, and Hyde hotel brands along with most of sbe’s Food & Beverage brands including Cleo, Fili’a and Carna by Dario Cecchini.

China Business Law Journal’s China Business Law Awards are based on hundreds of nominations received from China-focused corporate counsel and legal professionals around the world. In determining the winners, the nominations (and the justifications provided for each nomination) were considered carefully in combination with other factors, such as each firm’s landmark deals, cases and other notable achievements over the past year. We also consulted widely with law firm clients and conducted a large number of surveys to ascertain the level of satisfaction with the services provided by each firm.
