As a corporate partner in the Private Funds Group, Galen Lewis focuses his practice on representing U.S. and non-U.S. private investment fund sponsors in fund formations and investments. Galen also counsels U.S. and non-U.S. sponsors on regulatory issues and compliance, structuring and day-to-day operational issues.
In addition, Galen represents a diverse class of institutional investors with respect to investments in U.S. and non-U.S. private investment funds as well as secondary investment fund sponsors in the acquisition and disposition of portfolio investments in secondary transactions. By leveraging his experience across primary and secondary markets, he is able to offer his clients a market-based view on industry terms and issues from the perspective of different private investment fund actors.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Galen served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He completed tours of duty in both Afghanistan and Iraq and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Joint Service Commendation Medal for Valor.
