Brad Schecter is a partner in the Corporate Department and a member of the Private Funds Group.
Brad’s practice is focused on representing U.S. and non-U.S. private investment fund sponsors and investment advisers throughout the fund-raising process, including fund structuring, marketing, negotiation and formation, along with ongoing matters including investments, internal economic arrangements, regulatory issues and compliance, internal governance, and day-to-day management and operations.
Brad represents a wide variety of established and emerging private fund sponsors, from first-time sponsors to large asset managers, including sponsors of venture capital, growth equity and buyout funds, fund-of-funds, continuation funds, co-investment funds and credit funds, and also represents U.S. and global institutional investors in connection with their investments in private funds.
Brad was recently recognized as a 2024 Rising Star by Venture Capital Journal for his advisement in several headline-making transactions.
Prior to joining Proskauer, Brad practiced at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP in New York, where he represented a range of financial institutions, institutional investors and companies in connection with distressed investment opportunities, corporate restructurings, bankruptcy proceedings, and regulatory issues.
