Proskauer is excited to announce a partnership with the Schools Consent Project (SCP) for a new pro bono collaboration in our London and New York offices.
SCP aims to normalise conversations about consent to encourage safe, healthy interactions and reduce the likelihood of young people experiencing or perpetrating sexual harm.
For nearly a decade, SCP has facilitated lawyer-led workshops in schools across the UK to teach 11-18 year olds about consent and key sexual offences (including offences that occur online, such as deepfakes, sextortion, etc). In 2023, SCP began to expand its offerings, working with the military and in football clubs, by launching a New York branch of the project. To date, SCP has successfully educated over 60,000 young people globally through its network of 300+ lawyers.
Through our collaboration with SCP, our volunteer lawyers in London and New York will have the opportunity to regularly deliver these invaluable workshops to young people in schools in and around London and New York City.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Proskauer in both London and New York,” SCP’s Founder, Kate Parker, said, “and we look forward to training their lawyers to deliver this critical education in classrooms on both sides of the Atlantic.”
We look forward to collaborating with SCP on this important issue and making a positive difference in young people’s lives for years to come.
