December 9, 2020 (New York) – Proskauer partner Rob Freeman has been named to both Variety’s 2020 Dealmakers Impact Report and The Hollywood Reporter’s New York Power Lawyers 2020 list. This is Rob’s third time being recognized by Variety’s Dealmakers Report which recognizes global leaders in the media and entertainment industry. THR’s New York Power Lawyers list spotlights the most influential attorneys in the entertainment industry who are based in NYC.
Rob is co-head of the Firm’s Technology, Media & Telecommunications Group and a member of the Sports Law Group. He leads a team of corporate transaction attorneys focused on media, sports, entertainment and technology representing clients such as Discovery, Spectrum, Cox Communications, AMC Networks, ForgeLight, Altice USA, DISH/Sling, fuboTV, Hulu, NBA Media, NFL Media, and Urban One, among many others. “As the outside counsel to Discovery for more than a decade, Freeman has seen the company through a period of major transition for cable TV,” noted THR.
THR's editors intensively research the attorneys who are negotiating the industry's biggest deals and handling its most significant litigation to choose 100 people for the annual Power Lawyers list. The New York Power Lawyers list is an extension of that franchise, “spotlighting 20 attorneys with specialties in theater, fashion, media and music litigation who’ve been tasked with creating new deals in an unsteady landscape (cue the live-capture craze) and fighting cutting-edge courtroom battles via Zoom.” Rob’s profile is linked here and first appeared in the December 9 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.
Variety editors selected the Dealmakers Impact Report honorees for its prestigious annual list which profiles the key people behind the most important deals in digital media, film, TV and music. Rob’s profile in Variety is linked here.
